Hi,
I am in the process of putting together a new PC for the 5000A (and
secondarily for Microsoft Flight Simulator). Thanks to Neal and many others
on this reflector I think I have figured out what parts to get. The video

Hi Chris
They measure screens diagonally so I would expect you could use a 24

Its almost impossible to buy a bad monitor right now, and prices are quite
low.
Brands I really like include:

Looking to the future, you might want to consider using TWO monitors
with the 5000a computer. I use two, rotated 90 deg (they stand on
end). Some video cards, like my Nvidia GeForce 9500 GT, allow this.
When using several accessory programs with PowerSDR the additional
pixels are handy.

Thanks for the quick response Tim. I'll spring for a second set of speakers to
be on the safe side. I'm trying to cut back to one PC so I need a set connected

Can one use the second receiver in the Flex 5000A to monitor one's transmit
audio. For example can I turn the radio down to 5 watts. Plug a pair of
headphones into the Flex and tailor my transmit audio using the 2nd
receiver? Is this as practical as using a separate radio for that function.
On my 3000 I had been having trouble with a pumping effect in the audio

falling short of expectation and have been waiting for a future software fix
down the road.
Today things reached a level where the local noise level

Will a setting adjustment cure this?
