[Flexradio] Firewire Cards for Laptops

2011-04-19 Thread Ray Fallen
Good morning... Unless I'm missing something...most of the laptops I've been looking at do not have an ExpressCard Port for my SIIG firewire card. What are you using? I'd like to get a dual core laptop up and running for a trip to VP9 in September for CQWW-RTTY Contest. Thanks! Ray ND8L

Alan, Ray and all - As I have posted privately to Ray, I have recently purchased a new HP ProBook 4525s that seems to do the job without issues. It does have an express card slot that handles a SIIG plug-in FireWire card. I use it with my F3K and the latest PSDR without issue on both SSB and

I mostly use my Flex-1500 on EME with a 2 meter transverter. The transverter is configured for split IF and the Flex-1500 is connected to it with the XVTRCOM and XVTRTX jacks. This weekend, while awaiting the moon rise, I wanted to do some 6 meter meteor scatter ops and I could not get any

Building on Brian's suggestion, look at a used Macbook Pro. There are several reputable dealers on the net, I have done business with www.gainsaver.com and had good experience with them. They recycle computers coming off lease from companies, tear them down and then build them back up based on

First I want to say there was nothing wrong with my Flex 5000 C. It worked just great, and I have never been more pleased with the Radio or with the Team at FlexRadio. I just wanted to go to Windows 7 64 bit, stay up to date with the current OS and get some more head room for future Software.

[Flexradio] SDR-1000 makes clicking sound when not powered on but DC available

This may be an easy one. My SDR-1000 clicks when not powered on but DC power is available to it. The click is not particularly loud but is enough to be annoying. Of course it stops when one power lead is lifted from the power cube but that's a little annoying to have to do. I have a switching
