Re: [Flexradio] CTCSS

2011-08-24 Thread Ed Wilson
The TNF is a great feature and appears to be working well in my brief encounter with it last night. As a casual operator, I probably will not use it much because the bandpass filters already implemented in PowerSDR are so good. I have yet to experiment with the revised ESC as I really do not

[Flexradio] RX2 Protection during transmit

2011-08-24 Thread John Wagner
All, As I understand this, when using RX2 with a receive-only antenna ( for example) and the RX2 input configured to RX2 IN, there is no protection for RX2 during transmit. The only time there is protections for RX2 occurs when the input is set to RX1 Tap. Makes using a separate antenna on RX2 a

[Flexradio] FlexMemory v2.0.0 Released -- Now with Scanning Capability

2011-08-24 Thread Ray, K9DUR
FlexMemory v2.0.0 has been released is available for download from my website. This version has 2 major enhancments: 1. Ability to scan stored memories. 2. Ability to import memories from PowerSDR. Also, with the release of PowerSDR v2.2.2 DDUtil v2.0.2.29, several other issues have been

Re: [Flexradio] RX2 Protection during transmit

2011-08-24 Thread Jerry Flanders
This has been discussed before, and Gerald posted some actual RF levels that were known to be safe for the receiver front end. I would simply measure on all bands and verify that my setup was below these levels. Attenuate in some way if not. Search the archives for the earlier posts on this

Re: [Flexradio] RX2 Protection during transmit

2011-08-24 Thread Tim Ellison, W4TME
Jerry is correct on all points. The FLEX-5000 has a stout front end and it will take a signal in excess of 0 dBm to saturate the ADCs. You should be OK unless the RX antenna is in the near field of the transmitting antenna and you are running very high power. My antennas are in the near

Per the Flex specs on the 5000: Full duplex without the need for a second receiver installed for the ultamate CW rig How does one set up full duplex without the RX2? I assume separate antenna and then settings on the antenna routing options?? Will this really work without RX2?

[Flexradio] USB External Keypad Dedicated to Flex VFO

2011-08-24 Thread W6SDM Steve
I am going to submit this as a feature request, but I also wanted to see if anyone else thinks it may be viable in the way that they operate, particularly in contests or DX. I use a USB external number keypad. I keep it in close proximity to my CW paddle and Flex Control. Provided that I have

[Flexradio] FlexControl dead

2011-08-24 Thread Clyde Washburn
I have two FlexControls, one on a 5000, and one on a 3000. The one on the 3000 has suddenly gone dead. Although the lights come on when you plug it in, and it gets a COM port, neither 2.1.5 nor 2.2.2 react to it now, nor will it work through DDutil. The lights no longer come on when FlexSDR

[Flexradio] EasyPal

Heard some guys using digital SSTV on 20 meters and got curious since I had done some SSTV about 15 years ago. They suggested I give it a try. Anyone using EasyPal software with PwrSDR? Any suggestions on configuring the software. I have DDUtil installed, VAC. Rick W2JAZ

Rick EasyPal works well with PowerSDR . Just be sure to confirm the soundcard setup each time you start EasyPal. Dave W0DHB -Original Message- From: flexradio-boun...@flex-radio.biz [mailto:flexradio-boun...@flex-radio.biz] On Behalf Of Richard Lawn Sent: Wednesday, August 24, 2011
