Is PowerSDR no longer upgraded or supported? I have not used my Flex5000 in
quite some time and expected to see an upgrade from 2.7.2 but there is none.

PowerSDR is still supported. There has been no need for an update is all.
It's a mature software package.

I use my Flex 5000 all the time and am still using 2.6 which works fine. I
have downloaded 2.7 but haven't gotten around to installing it.

Hi Steve,
You are right that PowerSDR is a mature package, and I can understand why the
primary engineering
emphasis would be on SmartSDR. However, there are still a few issues to be
addressed. One, primarily

I was not having any problems or complaints I was just surprised that there
were no updates since March.

Hi Steve
Yes, the current iteration of PowerSDR is mature and a fantastic interface to
legacy radio’s. There are no bugs that I have found….HOWEVER…
I think there are some features that would be nice to have in PSDR. Not
critical, but would be awesome to have.

Would ddutil provide an interface for the prerecorded audio from another
application?
Don't do CW so no help there.

Oh, I forgot to add to the voice recordings. In addition to the quick memory
bank, and auto
TX/RX of recordings, it would also be good to have a user defined replay
facility. So for example
choose your CQ recording, and then have it key up on it’s own, play the
recording, go to RX,
then wait xx
Hi John
Have you considered interfacing a contesting
program like Writelog or N1MM, etc to your radio?
Contesting programs typically include CW/voice
(macro) replay, and provide for repetitive
voice/CW messages as well. N1MM is free and I
think it would work for the playbacks you want.
The voice thing is available-- it is Ray K9DUR's Voice Keyer. No cost.
Developed specifically as a PSDR add-on. Modular add-on's instead of
built-in apps are usually better in my book because they provide choice
of tools, instead of locking in a specific solution.

I hate the bug where if you take your system down in the wrong order
(like turn off the radio before closing the PSDR window) it locks up the PC.
PSDR should be robust enough to detect most all common user errors
and recover from them gracefully,
like any serious
Never had that happen here Dave Gomberg. I forget all the time.

John,
For you voice recording issue, take a look at my VoiceKeyer program. It is
donationware (free, but donations accepted) you can download it from my
website:

It gives you as many banks of 10 messages each as you want. The window is
Thanks Ray for that info - I am admittedly a bit techno challenged when it
comes to hooking up
third party programs to PowerSDR. I haven’t yet tried using DDUtil, although I

I highly endorse Ray's Voicekeyer. I've got it hooked up using Steve's DDutil,
which also controls other software and hardware.
Side benefits of Voice Keyer are:
I don't wake up the house repeating KJ2P or You're 59 in New York into
pileups and contests.
I compress the heck out of some of my
