Steve,
I'd look at one of the 11 inch HP Stream notebooks. Bought mine at
Walmart, where they're on sale now. Windows 7, 32GB SSD, 2+ GHz processor,
2 GB memory. Battery life is upwards of 7 hours, depending on what you
do. It had more than enough horsepower to run my 1500.

All,
I'm looking for a lightweight laptop/netbook to use with my Flex-1500 for
hiking/SOTA activation's. Size, weight, and CW latency are the important
considerations.
What do you have or could recommend?
Thank you,

Carl,
The 1500 does not have power measurement hardware, SWR hardware, nor a
built-in antenna tuner. Your external in-line wattmeter is an excellent
choice to use with the 1500 to show that the little jewel really is
transmitting. All is well. The CQWWDX CW contest this weekend is a perfect

Happy Thanksgiving all,
I have not used my Flex 5000 with Power SDR V2.7.2 for transmitting for

and the external in line wattmeter I have that it is

. It was reported that a Winbook TW802 tablet was doing OK with
PowerSDR etc. Some tablet/laptops are available using the same CPU
for less than $200. (See the nextbook series at walmart.)

Hi Army,
I am running the 5000 with the accessory ATU installed, not the 1500.
Thanks anyway!

Carl, my apologies. I totally misread your original note. If a complete
reset of the radio does not correct the problems you are experiencing, I
would suggest you open a support ticket with Flex and give them an
opportunity to suggest the appropriate course of action.
