Ray,
Not to question your troubleshooting, however I assume you have
pressed the Standby button on the console (upper left) to turn the
console/rig on? What you describe sounds just how the rig would
behave if it were still in Standby mode. The switch on the box

See if you can catch the preamp changes.
What a fun rig!

No kidding man! Always something to do with it ...and ponder on.
Thanks
I wonder if someone can help me out on some audio issues...
Reading back over the Delta 44 Quick Start Guide, it states to adjust
the mic gain using the ALC meter during transmit and adjust until the
peaks just reach 0db. It further says to make certain the compressor
is NOT turned on (and I

Eric,
Not the mic meter. The ALC meter. Please re-read my original
message. It refers to the Delta 44
current.
When the relay keing circuit is opened to turn the relay off you can get
over 400 volt spike on the control line. This can cause failure of the
X2-7 transistor.
Haven't run the Henry in years. Its gained way too much weight just
sitting in my office.

I just hooked up my SDR to my Henry 3K Classic. I used pin 7 and pin
15 (grnd) on the X2 connector to cause the relay to go to ground,
however something is wrong. If I use my ohmmeter between 7 and 15
without being keyed, I am seeing about 40 ohms, and when I key the
SDR, it does not change.

I got my SDR-1000/100 watt unit D-44 Friday, and have had a blast with it

Thanks to both Larry's. That answers my questions.
I see where the current requirement of certain relays could be a problem,
however a secondary relay system could be used to key the one requiring the
higher current I suppose. Come to think of it, I am sure my old Dow key
relay is a 110vac
This subject has probably been discussed before, and I did look best I could

I should get my SDR1K soon, and will likely set it up on a Windows XP Pro box

Thanks to all that responded on this! I think I can get this going now with

Hello All,
I am a new member of this reflector and soon to be a new SDR-1000 owner when
the unit arrives. I have been completely out of radio for about 5 years and
decided to come back in with a totally new (to me) technology. Being a
collector of vintage gear for many years, this will be an
I know I read somewhere that someone did some rather extensive testing on the
audio input for the SDR-1000, and found that a low noise mic pre ahead of the
box was better than cranking up the gain on the console. This makes sense to
me as I've found the same in the past using analog type
