Has anyone had an issue getting VAC to work on Windows 8? I have everything setup correctly, but when I go to start any sound card program I get errors that the VAC cable device cannot be opened. The VAC control panel even shows the PCM / rate and connection between Power SDR and VAC talking.

I've had the same issue since version 1 whatever of the PSDR software. Also half the time it fails to tune and when I try again immediately it works. If you try to tune an antenna that's already a good match it will also fail to tune it or not notice it doesn't need to. It's just a feature.

My 5k tuner will do this too. It happens when the antenna's reactance gets too high. It'll match, but as the power level peaks it's no longer a good enough match and makes wacky things happen. On a perhaps related note, PSDR does not show that I have a tuner in about 1 out of 10 starts. A

Someone needs to invent the RF-to-Visible Light upconverter. Similar concept to a FLIR camera, the SOHO ultraviolet solar images, or night vision goggles, but they can let you see RF in the 1-1000Mhz range in false colors. You could sweep the place RF clean in no time.
