I had found this site while searching Python sources. Don't know if
it will be of help or interest, but decided to post it anyway as I was
following the thread.

To give all the details that you may need about the new processor, the

Eric,
I tried the latest SVN binary this weekend and the problem seems to be fixed
- the audio sounded good without having to set the process priority to
'real-time.' In fact, it sounded good with the 'normal' setting.

David,
It seems to me that you need the Direct X package. It can bedownloaded
free from Microsoft.

David, there is also a nice utility that is sometimes helpful called

The utility displays everything it can determine about your DirectX

Thanks Ignacio,
That was exactly what the problem was!
Now back up and running on the new PC, but not yet calibrated it again. HI.
Thanks again.

Anyone know of a Firebox driver for Windows 2000 NT or is this unit only

Just curious what I should expect on a comparison of rcve sensitivity
between the SDR-1000 and KW TS-850 on 10 meters. With one watt of
transmitted RF on FM between two stations 18.6 miles distant, the unit
we tested shows the 850 as a winner by a long shot. I am not talking

what performance difference do you see between the 850 and SDR using side
band on 10 meters?
FM signals take the IF from a noise spectrum to a square wave (limited)
spectrum. you may be operating the SDR IF within it's dynamic range, i.e.,
the IF is not in haard limiting. maybe a little more
Hi
Had a problem during the BARTG contest and verified during the SCC(using
then SVN652 and now with 654).
The SDR-1000 was set to xmit lower sideband in the digl mode. The
display
showed it to be transmitting OK (mark=2.125kHz below the indicated
frequency). It actually was

To be fair to the two radios you mentioned, that was on FM, and any
audio mode that needs a wide frequency response is notoriously difficult
to be subjective about...
Having been an AM CBer in the the UK, I quickly noticed that FM CB rigs
that became legal in the UK did not seem to do as well
Guys,
I have a 940SAT I am getting ready to sell sitting alongside the SDR

Make sure the AGC Max Gain is set to a high value if you are using v1.6.2
release. It is now called RF on the latest SVN version. If this is set too
low you will not get maximum sensitivity. On the SVN version set it all the
way to the right. Sensitivity should be around -130 dBm in 500 Hz

Their signal was well over S9 here.
