[Flexradio] Major Power Bug

2008-12-29 Thread john_eckert
On vers v1.16.1 with the 5K, opening PA Settings Tab and selecting Expert and unchecking 'Use Advance Calibration Routine' the radio will output more than 10X the power settings. In my case a 3W setting puts out 35 watts! Any setting above 10W will probably kill the PA! This occurs with

2008-12-29 Thread Eric Wachsmann
Each time you run a calibration, it changes the checksum for that group of calibration data. Running a calibration on one version and then switching to another version will most likely cause a checksum error until the cal data is imported. After that, it should match up again. Eric Wachsmann

This is definitely not intentional. Note that the panadapter bandwidth depends on quite a few parameters (IF setting, sample rate, Spur Reduction). Make sure that these are the same for a good comparison. I'll look into this, but please help us by adding a bug report so we can properly track

And GPU's are going to become commodity priced quickly and possibly even move into the GPP and replace older ways of doing floating point. With Nvidia CUDA, you can write code for your GPP, call GPU with intrinsics to get pretty quick payback while a better longer term strategy is worked on.

The new I7 intel processors have a really amazing amount of horsepower but a tremendous amount of onboard stuff is designed to work intimately with the peripherals to bring on high speed graphics. Now if your argument is that all of this is going to be moved into the GPP, I might agree that we

John, The PA settings in PowerSDR are strictly for the SDR-1000 and not the 5K. If you are having issues with the power out in V1.16.1 of PowerSDR, be sure to start with a new database, do not import a previous database. If you did start with a new database, try resetting the database
