Looks like our wiki is the target of a pr0n spam bot. It obviously
uses zombies, and there's no reasonable way to block it other than with
making logging in mandatory. Blocking IP addresses is pointless and
will lead nowhere. I don't even consider mandatory login a bad thing --
why would we want

Hi Guys,
We had to put logins onto the X-Plane SDK wiki - we got spammed pretty
hard. Since the auth was put in we've had no problems.
*cheers*

it's just not worth the few anon edits we have received.
I'm confident that all of them are also willing to contribute if they
have to login, or more conveniently: just enable cookies for

Hi,
Great to see how the state of the heli simulation goes

Great! Hope to see the better bo 105 soon.

Hi,
How you can improve the weather in Flightgear?
Well, I tried the bigstorm_demo.xml and it's great!
But it looks of coirse not very well.
Well, my question is how the 3D clouds are generated?
Is this a ac.-format, or somthing else?
Thanx

Umm, you mean like the other original bo105 sounds?
Bad news: none of them is original. :-P
(I nicked them from the (GPLed) SAR sim. There were other nice
sounds in that package, in case someone's

Yes, there is a problem there. Texturing a 35,000 foot tall object is tricky,
and will probably require a huge texture(s). Artistic help could also

That's nothing new to me - I know the Bo 105, too

But it must not a problem to get the real sound, or?

It is for me: Neither do I have a recorder, nor are there many
Bo105 in Austria (if any at all!). I haven't *ever* seen one, and
I usually look and identify them. (But I'm not totally unfamiliar

I think that this means we could also try to do w/o the captchas first.

It's in the SimGear source. Have a look at
SimGear/source/simgear/environment. For the scene graph thingies,

Hi,
the heli simulation is almost complete for beta testing. Every thing
except the vortex-state-detection and the interface to the yasim-engines
is working now (the engine is simulated rather simplified, but is
working). The feeling is quite different to the old simulation (and I

There seem to be problems with that server. Maybe this works better:

We did okay without captchas, but we are not using MediaWiki, rather
phpWiki...it's conceivable that MediaWiki has smarter bots written for
it although I do not know.
