You and pigeon have it right. I tried shadow objects with quite a few models but started removing them as I figured that someone (I believe thanks are due to Harald) would eventually come up with a far better solution:) Haven't looked at the YF-23 for ages. Although I do have some plans for it they're down the line a bit. I'll get a quick update out to remove the 'fake' shadow.
