We have the idea to use flightgear to display the external view onto the
airport for OpenRadar. (OpenRadar Version 2)
This is something that would add a necessary grade of realism and would
make ATCing more attractive.

I guess there are a lot of SIL or other open source fonts out there which fit
fg license and probably also your needs. You can choose one you prefer or which
comes close to what you need, monospaced or not, and I can make the ttf for
you, when it is not there already. I know this
