William Samson: ... replacement hull for my PBK24 folder. ... PVC/polyester cloth, ...
seven panels, joined at the chines.

Ralph Hoehn: How about this:

- cut panels to shape roughly
- staple first panel to stringers / chines / relevant longitudinal frame members
- staple adjacent panel over it
- cut through to the stringer to get perfect match
- stitch together with a zig-zag stich (see Volker Born's building report)
- cover seam with rub strip on outside (glue ... weld if you PVC is thick enough)
- cover inside of seam with cloth tape to avoid abrasion of stitiching by frame
members.

Since you can tension each panel in increments as small as you want as you're stapling
it and then cut both pieces at the same time, you should get perfect panels. You might
want to remember to make very accurate and clear alignment marks on the panels before
cutting so that you can match them up for stitching off the boat.
