Ok I know code folding isn't going to happen anytime soon (personally I don't

Possibly a problem with your test server? The preview in PSPad is just Internet
Explorer's display in a PSPad window. Relative paths work fine for me (I use
Xampplite). Next time you get the image problem cut the url from the PSPad
preview window and try it in IE.

for PHP functions. It is also missing a lot of PHP functions and doesn't offer
the same sort of detail you get when using Ctrl + Space in PSPad.

start transferring text files as ASCII and not BINARY. Binary is fine for
directory listing and transferring things like images and zip files but text
files should be transferred using ASCII.

That stupid review has been mentioned here before and I have left my comments
on their page. Saying that notepad++ is better than PSPad just because it has a
better syntax highlighter is stupid. PSPad is more feature rich and easier to

Threads would stop PSPad hanging when doing FTP tasks and therefore let you save
a copy of the file elsewhere whilst waiting for the FTP to either timeout or
finally work. Also if you use a thread for the FTP connection you could add the
ability to cancel the transfer when it hangs.

I wouldn't say never but PSPad uses the a text editor component and until they
build code folding into the component you wont get it in PSPad. The only chance
I could see is if Jan switches from his current component to the Scintilla one
(as used in Notepad++) but I can't see that happening
It's my experience that a file opened from FTP is always saved to the folder it
was opened from. Only when you choose Save to FTP does it get saved to the
current folder.

I know what he's getting at but it seems a stupid feature to me. Basically if
you have a list of similar items and you edit part of it then press down the
cursor moves to the column it was at when you started editting as opposed to
where it is after finishing editing the first line.

To my knowledge if you have saved the file you are working on then the image
path will be relative but if you haven't yet saved it the image path will be
absolute.
if the file hasn't been saved then PSPad has no way of knowing what the relative
path to the saved version will be.

I only noticed this today but the % operator is getting highlighted in
correctly.
If you just type 1 % it is coloured correctly (as a symbol) but as soon as you
put a second number after it it gets changed to the wrong colour (as a
variable).

What Jan is saying is that if no remote directory is specified in the FTP
settings then when you connect PSPad just sends the _CWD /_ command which
tells the FTP server to put us in the root directory for the account we just
connected with. The root directory is specified by the server and not by

I use PSPad set to UTF-8 format as my website has multilingual sections. Anyway
I opened up this file (viz http://carbonize.co.uk/rogue.zip ) (the file in
the zip) and with PSPad set to UTF-8 the file gets seriously messed up. I have
to change PSPad to ISO8859-2 then reopen the file to view it
I opened it as it was sent to me I did not create nor save it again.. I also
opened it in two other editors (RJTextEdit and NotePad++) and whilst they didn't
display it correctly in UTF-8 (since it's not) they didn't mess up the way PSPad
does. I mean open it with PSPad set to UTF-8 and then
