Hmmm ... not sure what you are experiencing. For me, using a diagonal sweep
works fine for selecting multiple graphics objects. Just have to make sure not
to accidentally grab the text frame.

You can select multiple graphics within an anchored frame.
I never use graphics outside of anchored frames in FM so I don't know
about that case.
