I did some more tests.
Loading the old kernel lets me load the new zfs.ko.
So the problem seems to depend on the loaded kernel.

Doesn't setting hw.ix.unsupported_sfp=0 disable my SFP then? I actually need
that setting to be enabled, and as I mentioned in original PR, this behavior

This looks like the sfp_probe function firing every 3 seconds and noticing

This is not caused by MSI. The root issue is that the PCI bus only
pre-reserves BARs for leaf devices, not the I/O windows of PCI-PCI bridges.
