I am trying to get my HDA based soundcard work on both output jacks (back by the card and on the jack on top of the tower). With earlier FreeBSD versions I was able to have my speakers plugged in on the back of my soundcard and whenever I would plug in the headphones on the top of the tower the

ifdown/ifup under FreeBSD?

2009-12-17 Thread Sandra Kachelmann
Under RedHat Linux I can configure an interface, routes and so on in /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth1, /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/routes-eth1 then simply run: $ ifup eth1 and it will set all the routes/netconfig/aliases I just configured. Is there something similar in FreeBSD? I

NFS, how to find out which files are used

2009-02-03 Thread Sandra Kachelmann
I have an NFS fileserver and would like to figure out which files are being read/written to. Is there something to find that out? Something similar to samba's 'smbstatus' command. Sandra ___ freebsd-questions@freebsd.org mailing list

disable ipv6 lookups

2008-10-18 Thread Sandra Kachelmann
I'd like to disable ipv6 () lookups entirely since I'm not using ipv6 at all. I tried taking INET6 out of my kernel but i still see lookups being made. I stumbled accross some references in old resolv.conf manpages (it's not in there anymore) about where you can enable inet6 but not on
