When CUPS 1.2.0 came out, I had the same problem as others with port
permissions and the USB backend, so I changed my usb device permissions:
crw-rw-rw- 1 root cups 227, 0 Aug 5 22:36 /dev/ulpt0
crw-rw-rw- 1 root cups 227, 64 Aug 5 22:39 /dev/unlpt0
