Hi folks,
I'm trying to build a failover solution using FreeBSD 8.1-RELEASE and Heartbeat
from ports (v2.1.4-10).
I've already configured heartbeat in the two peers, but once I start the daemon
using the /usr/local/etc/rc.d/heartbeat script, either CRM and CIB fail to
start.
I've already

David,
My setup is fairly simple, a couple of minor points regarding what I set
out to do and how I set about it:
1. My network is fairly small (3 to 4 internal users and 2 to 3
external), but I needed to have a reasonably safe
Hi,
Futher to my previous mail, I have got HB Samba running ok now on
FreeBSD 5.3.
I am still trying to sort out the Perl Scripts for running rsync.
The bit I am having trouble with is:
# /etc/password - System Password File
# /etc/shadow - Actual Encrypted

Hi,
Futher to my previous
onprogramming and I am having problems getting my brain around scripts
etc.
My thoughts are:
Use heartbeat to form the core of the system.
Use Samba to export file shares for the Windows machines.
Use Rsync to sync the files between nodes of the cluster.
Use FTP (VSftp or ProFTP) to receive backups

Hi,
I'm trying to get heartbeat going. I have a problem though with the
udpport setting. The default is 694, but heartbeat won't start and say
that it cannot bind to that port something else is listening on it.
Using netstat dosn't show anything (the only thing running on the system

I've been asked to go ahead with a project that will require me to build
several machines, 2 of which are to be used for mysql, one being 'live'
and writeable, the other being a read only backup server. The developers

that are used to using an application called hearbeat
that does failover, and I am wondering what I can do in freebsd that is
similiar, if my mysql live server dies, the backup server takes over. I
browsed ports but there's so much there I may be missing something.
