This is only to inform you about ZEROFILL, a small DOS utility to clean
up free drive space in order to make easy to compact it with virtual machine
software.
The binaries as well as the source code is available at
http://guti.is-great.org/static.php?page=ZEROFILL
Have you considered hosting in on Sourceforge or Github?

When Revived 4DOS started, I read about they achieved to built it with Open
Watcom 1.8, instead of Visual C++ 1.52 as 7.50.
Any one tried? How the performace between both compare?
Thanks.--

I have release a simple reboot.com tool for DOS, performing a DOS warm boot.
It is available in source and binary forms at:
http://www.javiergutierrezchamorro.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/reboot.zip
Of course it is not as complete as fdapm, but should be interesting for
Thanks.
But looking at the source commited 20 minutes ago, it seems that no commands
are yet implemented, it is only like a stub.
I am curious why it need DPMI and DJGPP for that? It is not enought Watcom C++
in 16 bit real mode?
Does anyone know where to obtain the FAST reference manual, that was sent when
registering the program?
It is a bit tedious trying to figure its capabilities by looking at the source
code.--
Check out the vibrant tech
Just if anyone is interested, I was able to find old HLP files with Fast 2.61.
A pitty they are not updated to 2.92.

It seems that cp command is not copying the file, but creating a link to it.
On pwd and rmdir help, you are still referencing MINIBOX.
Hope you will have enough time to finish them.
I am again wondering by the need of DJGPP, and CWSDPI. I do not see any huge
requirements, most of the commands
Gitlab link is dead.

Following your details, I can confirm it is UPXed. I have unpacked it, and
increased from 8264 bytes up to 17424 bytes.
Then I examined the headers, and according to the signatures (Portions
Copyright (c) 1983,92 Borland) it should be Turbo/Borland Pascal 7 compiled.
Hope that helps.
I am sure Jiri will be interested in those DOS library enhancements:
https://github.com/open-watcom/open-watcom-v2
As for the fork, I see an additional problem, that will be outdated since it
will not contain latest fixed by Jiri.
It is a complex task, to be honest.
Why not focus in finishing Coreutils or FreeDOS TUI?

If is a matter of suggestion, I would say x86 32 bit protected mode would be
easier and more useful.
I still remember the dead FreeDOS-32.
Anyway I guess real issue is time and motivation to code, not ideas.

and am still
working on it, along with a small group of folks who are interested.

Thanks Bart.
Amazing OW build is more compact than TC one. Pretty fine!

That will be my point too. Problem on developing for DOS is usually you are not
allow to debug, unless in DOS. Exception is OpenWatcom, which will be my choice.

I do not think it will be that easy. It is probably hitting the 16 unsigned int
range, and also accounting that large memory model only allows to allocate
blocks of up to 64K (you are looking for huge).

I recall using it when it was qedit, and in version 2, when rewritten to C, the speed increase was noticeable. Good times!

Much more interesting is the multitasking version:
