great response, I've been on this path for a while as well.
People with low vision have an argument that Linux fonts are generally
worse, by default, than ios/android/windows counterparts. In most
cases it's the increased dpi/density that helps offset the blurry fonts.

Pretty sure it is a user error. The include is within a "#ifdef UNIX" and
"#ifndef HAVE_POSIX_TERMIOS" block.
UNIX defined and not HAVE_POSIX_TERMIOS is a a rather old unix box. I think the
mingw compiler works either as a modern unix-like system or a non-unix system,
not an old unix system.
