I just upgrade to 1.7.0, and i have a very annoying issue:
- when i launch an AVI file (and maybe any movie, i did not try with mkv
or DVD), i must wait 1 minute before seeing the movie.
- when the movie finally starts, freevo consumes 60% of the CPU (compared
to 5% in the 1.7.0 )
So : What
I have some hardware/time issues that are going to prevent me from making much
more progress on this for a while.
I've started a Installing freevo on fc6 for linux dummies section at the end
of http://freevo.sourceforge.net/cgi-bin/doc/Fedora documenting what I've
done/found to date. Hope it

I haven't made the switch from 1.7.0 to 1.7.1 yet, so take this with a

The recordings_manager.py plug-in may provide an answer for this as it
displays an icon for each item
I lastly did an update of freevo1.x from svn and found that after that
freevo and mplayer use much to much CPU. My whole system which is a
rather slow one hangs because of 99% CPU usage of freevo when mplayer is
running.
One thing I noticed was that the mplayer command line contains the

Thanks Tanja !
I confirm that the src/video/plugins/mplayer.py is issuing 2 times the -v
option when you are in CHILDAPP_DEBUG.
The second -v is heavily slowing mplayer!!! I just remove the first -v
option associated with the '-slave' one and everything is perfect now !
I will push a bug if
