I'm using an NVIDIA FX-5200 AGP with a heatsink (fanless).
This card has a DVI out. I drive my Sharp 42 1080p monitor using a DVI to
HDMI cable.
It took me a while to get the correct X configuration to work, but I found the
proper one for 1080p.
I'm using the NVIDIA binary driver from NVIDIA.

Yes, I got the definitive answer on the xorg mailing list. :) However
1920x1080 over single-link DVI does require use of reduced blanking
modes in order to keep it inside the 165MHz limit.

Maybe is not the best option, but it seems to do the job. And it helps
the fact that I have one of these :-). I will test it as soon as my
