Freevo. I tried to play in xv, x11 but that does not help.

xine and mplayer.. or does xine take the place of mplayer for everything if

For dvd's with menu, you need xine. If you still want to use mplayer for all

I´m using only xine. Didnt need mplayer until now.. btw, I´m using xmms
to play mp3s not mplayer.

Test it yourself. Xine can play most things, but perhaps there are some
formats that only mplayer can handle. Maybe you don't use any of them.
