Google's Book Search service offers searchers free downloadable PDF files of classic titles like Dante's "Divine Comedy", Sir Isaac Newton's "Principia", Ralph Waldo Emerson's "Essays", the complete works of William Shakespeare, and Aesop's "Fables", as well as other books no longer under copyright (search for example for "The Works of William Shakespeare").
