I don't think any other mfr. has a router that will let you print to a USB printer connected to the router like the airport extreme. If there is, I'd like to know. that's my concern as well. I'll be purchasing a wireless station in the next few weeks, but I haven't had time to do much research.

Yes the advantage is that you can print to it w/o any other computer being connected to the printer. That means that there does not need to be a computer plugged in/turned on for the printer to work. Many routers/cable modems have USB connectors but they are only for network connection,
