[g4u-help] a report on G4U 2.4 alpha3 for Hubert Feyrer

2009-04-07 Thread Michael Landers

Dear Mr. Feyrer,

Just wanted to let you know that I tried to use G4U 2.3 on a Dell D530
laptop and it would hang during boot. Tried 2.4 alpha3 selecting
option 1 and it worked just fine. As a side note in the information
you provide for 2.4 alpha3 you say, No more kernel+ramdisk for now.
(Need to re-evaluate situation for PXE). I'm trying to set up PXE
with G4U; does this mean 2.4 is currently unsuitable for use with PXE
boot or is worth trying? If it is unsuitable do you have plans to
change this for the final release of 2.4?

Thanks for your time,
Michael Landers

[g4u-help] Boot Problem

2009-04-28 Thread Michael Landers
Bill have you tried using the 2.4alpha3? I had problems booting 2.3 on some
more modern systems but 2.4 works fine.

[g4u-help] About broken pipes and PXE booting

2009-09-13 Thread Michael Landers
Hi Hubert,

First of all thank you so much for this amazing utility.

I work at a school and use g4u 2.3 via pxe boot which works amazingly
well. I am wondering if version 2.4 will be compatable with pxe boot.

My second question is I am having a problem loading an image onto a
machine at work and though I can't remember the specific error it was
something along the lines of broken pipe failure to write output.
Could this be caused by a faulty hard drive?

Thanks you for your time. How do you do prefer your donations?
Paypal or amazon books?

Thanks again,
Mike Landers
