Hi Dark,
May I ask what you mean by the console mode with hal?
Is that something with Hal, or does XP actually have a console mode?
Thanks.

Hi Dark,
Thanks. I just call that the command prompt.
Back in the dos days when programming games one would want to make sure
that the game wrote the text to the bios or console. That way all dos
screen readers would automatically speak the text.

Actually, there's several free dos screen readers now.
As someone already mentioned, jaws for dos is free.
There is a demo version of asap for dos which is free, though I don't remember

Hi
My ultimate goal with the windows98 virtual machine is to:
1. somehow get a fully working copy of keynote gold multimedia.
2. somehow get a fully working copy of asap screen reader
Hi
first off I do not know how to reply to individual threads because I'm in
digest mode. second I want to or would rather play the old games in real DOS
with a real DOS screen reader like asap. Asap is the only screen reader for DOS
that supports directly the keynote gold multimedia speech.

Hi Josh,
If you are on digest mode all you have to do to reply to an individual
message or thread is by sending a new e-mail with the same subject
line. For example, if there is a message with the subject “Playing Old
Text Games” and you want to reply to it just type the subject “Playing
Old Text
Hi Josh,
Can’t really help you there. I actually had a copy of Keynote Gold
Multimedia laying around here for a long time, but I think I
eventually pitched the floppy disk as I could no longer use it on
newer Windows releases. It was copy protected with the everlock key
system that Jaws use to

There was jaws for dos (which someone already mentioned)
and there was one called provox which I have now taken over development for,
and it can be found at:
