Hey Tyler.
I don't have any light perception any longer so I cannot comment on the
display although my nephew, the one I have mentioned before who is a big
gamer, says it's the best looking display he's seen on a handheld. I
believe there are four brightness levels but I am not positive on that.
Hey all,
Just thought I'd start a Kingdom of loathing thread. Any KoL players on
list? What do you think of the game? I'm musicman2004 on there if anyone
wants to Kmail me.

Hi,
I have officially mastered Puppy1. I achieved a total of 87 planes destroyed,
for a score of 2172256. BTW, if the score doesn't give it away, I was on expert.
It is literally impossible to get any farther as the first plane of the round I
was on starts right next to me, and I have no time to
I do seem to remember many Atari games did that. After a while you just
couldn't keep going because everything just got going so fast.
Time is an illusion, lunchtime doubly so.

I play the game fairly regularly. I've ascended a few times, and have some
rare and powerful equipment. I'd be willing to help anyone who needs it get
a good start into the game, since i remember it can, or used to be a bit
rough on newbies.

Hello; Listers, Can someone help me? I couldn't find the walkthrough for the
Harry Potter z8 game. I went to the if archive website and nothing. I even
tried searching for it on the website and no go. Can someone please point me to
the direct URL for it? Please write back.

Hi Lisa,
Yes, definitely, Puppy1 calls for to be played with head phones if ones
speakers are not set up so that there is good stereo separation.

Hi Karl,
I will try adjusting the math for the volume of the wind sound a little bit,
but I do not want the wind sound so loud that I can not hear the enemy plane.
What I do is, as soon as the enemy plane or the next enemy plane is the target,
I press the right control key and start heading
Hi Thomas,
I am not so sure that Puppy1 saying zero, zero as soon as you are on target
would be a good idea. The problem being that you and the enemy are moving
constantly. Well 20 times a second. So the enemy could move on and off of
target like 10 times a second and that would have the
Hi DJC,
Thanks, I also like Puppy1 the way that it is. I do need to fix that one
little bug, add the space bar to do the same as the right control key and hope
to add joystick support, but other than that...
Thanks again and BFN

Hi Demetry,
Yes, Vista no longer ships with all of the files required to run Visual Basic 6
programs. If you first run the setup.exe file in the winkit.zip file from my
site the files as well as the Kitchensinc folder and game menu program will be
installed.
The winkit.zip file can be found
Hi Thomas,
Yes and no. Some of the menus in Puppy1 such as adjust volume, adjust rate of
speech and change voice still use the VB6 keyboard input, because those are
chunks of code from before. The main menus though are DirectX keyboard input
routines that I took from Homer on a Harley and
Hi Thomas,
I really did not have any specific ear in mind. I just used the sounds that I
could find that sounded good to me and worked in the game. I am pretty sure
that I have mixed WW I biplanes, WW II bombers and more modern planes such as a
Cessna or Piper Cub. And of course I did not
Hi Phil,
Yes, flipping the number for the direction to head the enemy back towards you
would sort of work. However the game randomly picks a number for a direction
for the enemy to move about 20 times a second. So just flipping it one time
would not fix the problem as the code is written.
Hi Will,
Yeah, sorry about that. I forgot that some computers do not have a right
control key. I will as I did in Homer on a Harley, make the space bar do the
same as the right control key.
Again, I'm sorry that I forgot to do that for version 1 of Puppy1.

Hi Thomas,
Yes, please, I would appreciate it if you could share the p51 files that you
have.
The ones that I have are of high quality, the only thing is, is that they are
all of climbing, diving, starting, stopping or idling. So there is not a long
enough patch of constant engine sound so
Hi MissWings,
Wow! playing with three others in the room playing the same game could really
get confusing. grin
Yeah, I just thought that because in a plane you press the stick forward to
dive and pull it back to climb that the arrow keys should be like that too.
Thank you very much for
Hi Charles,
Yeah ah ha, having players throwing up on the keyboard could certainly make
Puppy1 tougher and more interesting. grin I could also tell them information
that they don't want to know so that they are as confused as Sergeant Shultz.
grin
Thanks for the ideas. grin

Hi Tyler,
Thank you and all for saying how much you like and are addicted to Puppy1. I
appreciate it very much.
I don't know of any bugs in Homer on a Harley and don't know of any new
features that the game needs. So am pretty sure that Homer on a Harley is done.
Thanks again and BFN
Hi.
Jim this game is adictive.
Once I got the wind in the middle I was able to hit the target.
I got up to 71000.
I must admit that after a while the planes being right next to me are a bit of
a headake.
I only have seconds to get them, I lasted ok but well in the end I just
couldn'tget it in
