Is there a reason gmond will insist on reporting as 127.0.0.1 and localhost.localdomain and not the actual hostname? I'm running Ganglia 3.1.2 on two servers running RHEL5.3. Originally the second was imaged from the other so they should be pretty similar. I've built gmond and can start it on
