Hi, I'm still not able to get past this problem. Can someone suggest any pointers as to which aspect of the conversion should I look into.. Any help is appreciated. [gdal-dev] Mosaic the output of gdal2tiles
Hi all, I have a folder with a gdal2tiles output: 6 levels of zoom (and folders), with subfolders and the .png tiles. Is there a gdal tool to merge in a single geotiff file these .png tiles? [gdal-dev] FWTools and GDAL 1.7.0
Hello all, I was working on #3890 and the ticket issuer reported gdalinfo version as: gdalinfo --version GDAL 1.7.0b2, FWTools 2.4.7, released 2010/01/19 I downloaded FWTools 2.4.7 for windows and verified the version. I may be confused with the GDAL version, but assuming b2 is beta 2, wasn't this version was retracted? Does anyone know if beta 2 was released before the commit that caused the HFA issue? Just wondering if the FWTools should be upgraded to 1.7.x. Thanks. kss # Kyle Shannon Physical Science Technician RMRS Fire Sciences Lab Fire, Fuels Smoke - RWU 4405 5775 Highway 10 W. Just wondering if the FWTools should be upgraded to 1.7.x. Thanks. Kyle, FWTools was built at random intervals from GDAL trunk. It appears that last release was around the 1.7 release point. I haven't really tried to keep producing new FWTools releases over the last year and I'm not sure I've retained enough of the materials for it to produce a new one. I might revisit this at some point. In the meantime I mostly try to point people to OSGeo4W now. [gdal-dev] RE: Mosaic the output of gdal2tiles (iomeneandrei)
Hi all, I have a folder with a gdal2tiles output: 6 levels of zoom (and folders), with subfolders and the .png tiles. Is there a gdal tool to merge in a single geotiff file these .png tiles? Hi Andrea, Probably the simplest way to handle this is with a virtual dataset. Rather than a direct mosaic, you create a virtual mosaic and then use gdal_translate to convert to a geotiff, e.g. 1) gdalbuildvrt test.vrt *.png 2) gdal_translate test.vrt test.tif Simple as that. You'll want to perform this on your highest resolution tile, I'm guessing. It is good practice to provide overviews for performance sake, so run gdaladdo: 3) gdaladdo -r average test.tif 2 4 6 8 16 32 64 128 If you want to really optimize (and here others can probably make better recommendations) you'll want to use internal tiling when you create the tif (only applies to max resolution, but good to do nonetheless), e.g. replace step two with: 2) gdal_translate -co TILED=YES test.vrt test.tif Steve Mather ___ gdal-dev mailing list gdal-dev@lists.osgeo.org http://lists.osgeo.org/mailman/listinfo/gdal-dev
[gdal-dev] Re: PCIDSK .pix feature attribute information not visible in geomatica.
Hi, Apologies for the delay in replying and thanks for the response. @Frank: I did try to open the ogr_polygon.pix in geomatica. The different attribute fields are empty, when viewing in the attribute manager. @Chaitanya: Yes I did try using the ogr2ogr Utility. For the sake of test, I used the utility to convert a .shp file to .pix and back to .shp. During the transformation, the attribute information is lost. Thanks, Shashi.
