Thanks for this, I may give it a try, although for my purposes I have found sort-by-date so useless that I now routinely rename my images to a name reflecting the date (eg. 20150906172825.dng) as the first step in my pipeline :-P (I have a little python script for that, if anyone is interested.) -- Please *no* private copies of mailing list or newsgroup messages.
