rebuilding xine-lib seems to have fixed it.hey, i have the same problem, but i don't have xine-lib installed on my system at all - it is not a dependency of mplayer nor mplayerplug-in, afaik. Can anyone explain?

busybox replaced sash in the profile, there was a thread on it a few
days ago, check the archives... after you emerge busybox, emerge
--depclean will unmerge sash.
