You can do `cd //linux-host/share' in a bash terminal
You can do it on Linux, too. Use the kernel automounter and set it up to mount
shares

BTW: Is the share served by a Windows or Linux machine and what OS is the
client? If it's Linux only, you'd better be using NFS.
