[gentoo-user] Sound card issue

Hi all, I am trying to get gentoo linux working on my laptop, but i am having problems getting the soundcard to work Here is what i have so far: Card Type: cirrus logic Crystal CS4281 PCI Audio kernel: 2.6.9 laptop: IBM Thinkpad X21

Can anyone tell me whats wrong here? reading on the net apparantly i just load the module and it should work, whats gone wrong? I'd recommend to emerge alsa-utils. Then try to run alsaconf. Sound OK? Then add ALSA to your preferred default runlevel. Best regards ce --
