The same file in its original location looks like this: ======================================= # ls -la /opt/netscape/plugins/ -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 25628 Jul 10 22:05 plugger.so ======================================= The thing is all other plugins in the netscape folder with the exception of flashplayer.xpt are executables.
