Hi, I'm a happy aiglx+beryl user. There are a bunch of opengl apps (celestia, google earth, stellarium) that I'd want to use but do not play nice with beryl using opengl (e.g. stellarium has unreadable fonts). So I googled a bit and I found that you can bypass that simply by launching apps on
