Right, I had nsplugin set only for seamonkey and had not noticed it was
available also for gnome-shell. Moved it to make.conf, now it works
fine!

Fair enough.  I didn't have any such problems here, but I noticed dekstop 
latency going through the roof when paging started taking place.  I have 
disabled zswap and will see if things improve.
