requires the old neon version to be installed, but does not compile
against it.

subversion had been build with neon 0.26.
after the downgrade of neon subversion is the reason

AFAIK, USE=firefox will remove the dep on seamonkey and that stuff. I dont
use gnome though,

gnome depends on seamonkey, mono-tools depend on mozilla,
but mozilla nd seamonkey block each other.
I had to uninstall gnome and evolution to be able to keep mono-tools.
