Hey folks,

We're starting to see a lot of bugs over the last couple of months, directly
or indirectly, caused by stupid use of CFLAGS and/or MAKEOPTS=-j2000 (or
similar. ;)

Ladies and Gentlemen, have a gander of bug 74072[1], bug 91167[2] and bug
90973[3] for a few prime examples.

Now, Gentoo is about choice (oops, did I just say that ? - the anti-choice
brigade will be after my head now), and you can do what you please with your
CFLAGS, MAKEOPTS, WANGNICENESS variables. But. When it comes to submitting
bugs, you need to be a little conservative. Please. :)

For example, if your a -funroll-every-single-possible-loop or -O9 kinda
person, be sure to check that you can reproduce bugs with sane CFLAGS before
reporting (where sane is more or less "-O2 -march=yourarch
-fsome-safe-options-here", for example) please. Ditto if you have
MAKEOPTS=-j321 in your /etc/make.conf, and your box only has _one_ processor.

Just a friendly note. :)

Best,
Elfyn
