Well the files we have in common have the same permisions/ownership
but you have a few more than me..
I rebuilt 'x11-libs/qt-3.3.8b-r1' oneshot, but
it did not help fix the problem

Yes, I noticed the 2 extra files. I have the same versions
of OO and qt as you. It works for root, but not james.
