As I understand it a good WLAN device driver will associate and re-associate with the next available device when it comes into range. Some drivers are not that good at re-associating. In that case you may have to modprobe -r and then reload the driver, or unplug/replug the WiFi device if it is a USB/cardbus. If you engage in the noble sport of <aheam> wardriving then you will need to use a good device that has well developed drivers in Linux. I am not aware of a daemon that performs this function in parallel to the WiFi device driver, sort of a ifplugd for wireless, but others may know better. -- Regards, Mick
