Hi I was pretending to emerge emacs to check dependencies and I got
amazed when I saw this:

These are the packages that I would merge, in order:
Calculating dependencies ...done!
[ebuild N] media-libs/giflib-4.1.4 +X -rle 0 kB
[ebuild N] dev-libs/libIDL-0.8.6 -debug -static 0 kB
cool; that solved the problem really well; I am changing my use flags
to -X -kde -gnome -motif so I got no more such problems, and I
thinking to rebuild my system

You might want to add -qt -arts to that list.
