[gentoo-user] ERROR: media-libs/smpeg-0.4.4-r6 failed
I've figured out most of my 11 month updates, but this one is driving me mad. I would appreciate some advice here. I still have a few apps to update that fail like this: checking for SDL - version = 1.2.0... no *** Could not run SDL test program, checking why... *** The test program failed to compile or link. See the file config.log for the *** exact error that occured. This usually means SDL was incorrectly installed *** or that you have moved SDL since it was installed. What is the status of libsdl on your box? Is it installed? If so, what version? It appears that either an incorrect version is installed, or the installed version is broken (if it was not installed at all, smpeg would have installed it before installing itself, so clearly there is some reason that Portage thinks it didn't have to). OK so I re-merged libsdl for the 3rd time and smpeg built successfully. Darned if I know what caused this.
