Hello all, Stefan made a guess: Try using tomcat6 if the problem is still there. He is right. I tried to install geoserver on CentOs 5.8 tomcat5. After I create a new server (CentOs 6) and installed tomcat6 geoserver there, there is no problem. Geoserver runs smoothly. Thank's all! --pk

Finally I found some time to this. I'm still without success :-( I'm unable to install newer tomcat (now 5) bacause of my hosting service. After clean installation of 2.3, I check thru all logs. There are two messages, which caught my eye. INFO: Deploying web application archive geoserver.war
