ok, so problem was in postgis, reinstall of postgis solved it. I should try
it earlier. Sure, I don't know why, but I deleted table the_geom, so, as
in a lot of cases, problem was between chair and PC :)

Thanks all for help, I really appreciate this

[Geoserver-users] Geoserver showing stale tiles

2012-03-28 Thread vm86
Hai,

I have a problem with geoserver. It seems that the geoserver is caching the
old tiles, even though there is an update. But if I zoom in/out I can see
the updated tiles. Is it a common problem or am I doing some thing wrong ?
Can any one help me on this issue.

Thanks and Regards,

[Geoserver-users] Layer publishing from Oracle OCI not working with Geoserver 2.1.3

2012-03-28 Thread Max Stephan
Hi list,

we are currently testing the Oracle-integration in Geoserver via Oracle OCI.

Our Geoserver-Version is 2.1.3, the Oracle-Database is 10.2.0.3. The Oracle
instant-client is installed on the machine where Geoserver resides.

SQL-plus is working without problems but the same cannot be said for
Geoserver. Here is what happens:
- Creating the new Oracle-OCI-store with alias, schema and the other
connection-params works without problems
- When we try to create a new layer based on this store, the tables for the
defined schema are listed, but when we click on Publish for a spatial
table the following error occurs:

For non-spatial tables the publish-form is displayed normally. Does anyone
have a clue where the reason for this behavior could be? Another user has
posted a similar problem here:
http://osgeo-org.1560.n6.nabble.com/getting-data-from-OracleDB-in-production-td3801495.html#a3801496
where the solution seemed to be that you have to connect to the database
with the credentials of the schema-owner to make it work. Unfortunately I
don´t have those credentials but apart from that: Is that the real reason
for the problems?

Best regards and thanks in advance
Max Stephan

[Geoserver-users] Serving MBTiles (UTFGrid) with GS/GWC ?

2012-03-28 Thread Gis Mage
Hi list!

Is it possible to serve MBTiles with GS/GWC?
The most important part here is the UTFGrid technology.
So the question really is - can GeoServer produce UTFGrid tiles?
Or maybe encode vector features in some similar raster format?

Nope, it cannot. It could be implemented as a WMS output format though.
I don't know of any plans to implement it in the short term, I guess
everybody
is waiting for a project/sponsor to justify spending the time on it

[Geoserver-users] New projection/gridSet for all layers in embedded GWC

2012-03-28 Thread Thomas Jahnsen
Hello

I have a GeoServer instance with 100+ layers, which up until now have been
served as normal WMS. Some of them are slow, so we hope to cache them with the
embedded GeoWebCache.

We display our maps in UTM-33N (EPSG:32633), and I need to make a cache for
this custom grid. I have created a geowebcache.xml file in the cache
directory and added only a GridSet with our existing extent and resolution
list. The log file says the gridSet is read, but it doesn't do anything further
with it. I hope to see the grid listed in the GWC demo page, but it only has
LatLon (4326) and Google Mercator (900913).

How can I make a gridSet available for all layers without having to list them
in geowebcache.xml? One of the strong points of the embedded GWC should be to
seemlessly switch between cached and uncached versions of the same layer, so
having to configure each and every layer in geowebcache.xml (with a different
name, no less) would scupper its usefulness.

I have installed a nightly build on my local computer, but my gridSet in
geowebcache.xml isn't picked up by the layers shown on the demo page.

Kind regards

Hi Thomas,
There is a graphical interface for adding gridsets, etc. in the
trunk (so not yet in the nightly builds, I think). It's pretty nice. That
said, I've never run a production instance off the trunk-- I'm guessing it
is discouraged.

We have found some problems with the way the GeoTools encoder handles
restrictions. I think Rini just submitted a patch for the order of
properties defined using a restriction, but I don't think I have ever
tried this with an attribute. Rini?

How are you specifying the value? As a literal? Please ensure that it is
enclosed on single quotes to ensure that it is not interpreted as a CQL
 expression.

The compiled definition for the GML type looks reasonable. Justin?

It should be possible, as long as you go through the regular gwc
endpoint (i.e. /geoserver/gwc/service/wms) instead of using direct
wms integration (i.e. /geoserver/wms), and you set the fullWMS
property to true in data dir/gwc/geowebcache.xml.

That said I never tried it myself, but it should work as long as it
works on the standalone gwc version.

 Gabriel

Dear Kaveh,
You have to add WPS to your geoserver. For this please go to the download
page of geoserver.
Select your version and there you can find the jar files for the WPS.Please
put these files in web-inf/lib folder.
After that you please restart your geoserver. Then you can see WPS along
with WMS,WFS,WCS.
