Hello, after a while of searching and some trial and error, I managed to compile the latest git version of GIMP on Snow Leopard (with 64bit kernel enabled). Since I didn't find a tutorial treating this particular subject I have written one and posted it here :

The GIMP can actually already run natively on OS X, at least in theory. There is a build of Gtk+ which uses native Cocoa backend. http://gtk-osx.sourceforge.net/ I've read several posts from people claiming they have built GIMP via jhbuild. There is also the possibility to install the gtk+ from
