some months ago, i installed the 2.8 and this version didn't suit to my need for
many reasons. I was a kind of pain to get back to the 2.6 that i use today for
several hours a day.
For me the 2.8 had many lacks and bad choices of design forced me to get back to

Am kinda spamming the forum today as i managed to test G2.8.4 without
uninstalling my current 2.6.
And therefore, i have some questions, and the first one is about the strange

I have never had this issue or had this issue reported to me, and so
attributed it to the version being used by the OP.

Import your texture image as a layer via drag and drop. Make sure
this is the top layer of your image in progress.
In the Layers dock, select the layer with orange text, then use the
Select By Color tool to select the orange color.
