Things don't necessarily improve after reinstalling. Especially when
that is not the solution at all.

Also unable to access drives/directories with GIMP 2.10.
Uninstalled.
Deleted all gimp directories in Programs.
Reinstalled.
Still can not use anything else than the user directory I'm signed into windows
with.
Is my only option to just abandon 2.10?
Windows 10
I'm glad I saved the 2.8.20 setup
I donĀ“t really know what is GLIB but using the portable version from partha.com
allows me to browse directories without needing to create a profile or
installing/uninstalling any other thing in my computer. But I'm just a GIMP
beginner.
Hopefully it will be fixed in the official GIMP installer.
Thanks Elle! Yes, that is it.
When I rebuild to answer Ell on the other bug, I'll check out 2.56.2. In
the meantime, yes, you have to downgrade to 2.53.x which is why my build
doesn't exhibit this issue.

Is this bug report relevant? If so, the fix might be in glib 2.56.2.

Thank you for your kind words. I'll endeavor not to take this as a
solution.

This is a problem with glib. You have to downgrade to 2.53.1 I had to do
that when I ran into this problem with RC2.

Hello everyone,
I just installed GIMP 2.10 and when I try to open or save an image it doesn't
allow me to browse my hard drives and the option on the top to navigate through
folders is not present.
Then uninstalled 2.10 and installed again 2.8.22 and everything was fine.
Installed again 2.10
