There's a few reasons that I can think of. A different set of maintainers
and developers, maybe. Separation into a separate package also means that
the python package can be updated without waiting for a Gimp update.

Try going to the Windows option and second option, Dockable Dialogs. I Have

There's a flatpak on gimp.org. If you want a Debian version, there is one
of those too, available through the debian repositories. Both

There's not enough information there to tell what is going wrong. Where are
you making the changes, on screen or in the tool options, for example. As I
recall there have been similar discussions in the past, and it may pay to

conflict between GIMP and some other software, running at the same time as
